“Project Fusion” - The Rollout of a New Integrated Customer Relationship Management (CRM) System

Project Fusion is an initiative to unify our fragmented customer data and sales tracking systems into a single, comprehensive, cloud-based CRM platform. Our current patchwork of spreadsheets, outdated databases, and disparate applications has created significant inefficiencies, leading to a fragmented view of our customers and missed sales opportunities. This project is a critical step in our digital transformation journey.

The goal is to replace these legacy systems with a modern CRM that will give our sales and customer service teams a 360-degree view of every customer interaction. This will enable us to respond to customer inquiries more effectively, personalize our sales efforts, and provide consistent, high-quality service. The project will involve selecting a new vendor, migrating all of our historical customer data, and seamlessly integrating the new CRM with our existing marketing and accounting software. We plan a phased rollout, starting with our customer support team as a pilot program before fully implementing it across our sales and marketing departments.

By investing in this new technology, we expect to see tangible improvements in our sales team’s productivity and a measurable increase in customer satisfaction. This new system is not just a technology upgrade; it’s a strategic investment in our ability to grow, compete, and better serve our customers for years to come.

    • Vice President of Sales
    • Marcus is excited about the project and is concerned with system usability, ease of data entry, and new features that will help his team close more deals.
  • Sarah Jenkins
    • Customer Support Manager
    • Sarah is worried about potential disruptions to service during the transition.
  • Brian Cooper
    • Director of Information Technology
    • Brian is a gatekeeper for technical resources and is concerned with data security, system stability, and long-term maintenance costs.
  • Lena Petrova
    • Director of Marketing
    • Lena’s team will be the last to adopt the new system. She is interested in the CRM’s integration with marketing automation tools and its ability to track campaign effectiveness and lead generation. She wants to ensure the new system provides better data than the old one.

  • Jessica Evans
    • Senior Account Executive
    • Jessica will represent the sales team. She is skeptical of the new system and is worried it will make more work for her.
  • Michael Lee
    • Corporate Counsel
    • Michael will need to review and approve the new system’s data migration processes from a compliance perspective with respect to data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA). Michael is a risk-averse and has signing authority to approve all contracts with vendors.
  • Chloe Wilson

  • David Feldman
    • Vice President of New Product Development
    • David is aware of the project but it doesn’t look like it will affect him or his division. Be warned, however, that he sabotaged an unrelated project a couple of years ago when his budget was cut back to make up for lower than expected sales in the previous quarter. He was rewarded with additional funds that were slated to be spent on the failed project.
